A quiet, ordinary evening at the Ministry of Internal Affairs office in the city of Kalinin. Everything seems peaceful: birds are singing outside the window, and a freshly brewed cup of coffee sits on the desk. But in an instant, that fragile calm is shattered. A murder has been committed at the "Sovyonok" camp, located just nearby. The case is unprecedented on its own - but what makes it even more disturbing is that the killer’s methods resemble those of a long-forgotten murderer.
Will Semyon Persunov and Elena Tikhonova be able to solve the case?
Who fell victim to the successor of the long-lost maniac?
And most importantly - who is really behind it all?
