Comatho, young Priestess of Patras, and Melanippus, son of a shepherd, fall deeply in love with each other. However, their difference in status leads Comaetho's parents to refuse the union. The two young people therefore decide to meet each other in the secrecy of Artemis' temple. How are the two lovers going to appease the Goddess? Can true love triumph at the end of the day?
